Both teams struggled to score a basket in the first couple of minutes of the game. It was tied 5-5 at the first media timeout just under 5 minutes in the first quarter. Bluefield College extended their lead by the end of the first quarter with a three; the Lady Blues were down 7-17.

The game reached its biggest deficit so far with a 21 point lead by the Lady Rams at the 2:31 mark of the second quarter.

At the half, the Lady Rams of Bluefield College had a 40-22 lead. Junior Tierra Richberg led the way for the Lady Blues at the half with 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The second half was a lot like the first, the Lady Blues were down 34-55 at the end of the third quarter. When the fourth quarter rolled around, the Lady Blues were out of gas, and couldn't overcome the large deficit.

For the game, the Lady Blues struggled offensively, shooting 24.1% from the field, 28.6% from three, and 52.5% from the free-throw line. A big factor in the game were turnovers, the Lady Blues committed 24 turnovers compared to their opponents' 15.

Sophomore Chaunte McDowell had 9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 2 assists. Junior Tierra Richberg (pictured) had a solid game with 8 rebounds, 5 points, 2 assists, and 1 block. Senior Janae Williams had 6 points and 5 rebounds.

Junior Tanasia Blake had 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 assist. Freshman Lyndsay Hatfield had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Sophomore Jessie Rehwald had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 assist.
