No one under the age of twenty-one will be served alcoholic beverages at any tailgating activity on property owned, leased, or controlled by the University.

All Attendees participating in tailgating activities are required to drink responsibly. Individuals exhibiting signs or behaviors of the overuse of alcohol may not be served or allowed to consume alcohol on property owned, leased, or controlled by the University. Behavioral symptoms frequently associated with the overuse of alcohol will be considered in determining intoxication.  If you serve alcoholic beverages, ensure that you have a sufficient number of designated drivers to accommodate your guests. No underage distribution or consumption of alcohol is permitted.

Pick up after yourself and your party. Properly dispose of any trash or tailgate paraphernalia. Trash containers are provided in the tailgating areas.

Plan your menu and do prep work beforehand.

Make a checklist of items to take along with you. Decorate your tailgate area with team pennants, flags, and the like.

Roadways, aisles, and other parking spaces must be kept free of tailgating equipment to allow for vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

No solicitation, selling, or marketing of any kind is allowed. No sales activities (admission wristbands, food, beverage and/or clothing/paraphernalia) are permitted in the tailgating areas or unless authorized by the Bluefield State University Athletic Department and the B-State Bookstore.

A fire extinguisher is encouraged for each group using a cooking appliance.

Spaces can be reserved for the season; others will be on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mitchell Stadium has many underground utilities providing electrical power, natural gas, water, sewer, data, and telephone services. In order to protect people from injury and avoid damage to property, any driven stakes for tents are prohibited without first marking public and private underground utilities. This process requires a minimum of 14 days prior notice by law. For your safety, please secure any tents and canopies with weights or ballast that can be laid on the surface of the ground.

Please keep music confined to your space(s) and no profanity.

Note: Any violation of these rules and regulations will result in the cancelation of any future tailgating privileges and the forfeiture of any prepaid expenses for the remainder of the season.
