Fairmont, W.Va.—The Bluefield State Women's Basketball team suffered a 45-105 loss to Fairmont State tonight in the Joe Retton Arena in Fairmont, W.Va.

The Falcons had a fantastic night on offensive, shooting 56% from the field, 51.6% from three (16-for-31), and 83.3% from the free-throw line.

The Lady Blues did stick with the Falcons on the boards though grabbing 36 while the Falcons had 37.

The Lady Blues were down by 15 points midway through the first quarter and were down 12-27 going into the second quarter. The Lady Blues continued to struggle as the Falcons continued to make shots and extend their lead dramatically, 59-19 at the half.

In the second half, the Lady Blues continued to fight, but the overwhelming deficit was too much for a comeback.

Junior Tanasia Blake (pictured) had her third straight double-double with 12 points (5-for-12) and 12 rebounds. She also had 1 assists and 1 steal in 39 minutes of play. Junior Tierra Richberg had 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 assist.

Senior Janae Williams had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 steal. Freshman Lyndsay Hatfield had 9 points (6-for-6 FTs), 2 assists, 1 rebound, and 1 steal.
