Box Score Bluefield, VA- The Ladies played their second rivalry game in as many days as they took the 2.5 mile drive to The Dome on Bluefield College's campus. The Ladies came up short this time around, losing the Battle of the Bluefields by a score of 65-45.
Buckets were hard to come by for the Big Blues, as they were 12 for 55 shooting a mere 22% from the field. On the bight side, the Big Blues have really started finding their range, hitting 7 tonight. The team was also a lot better from the line, making 14 of their 20 attempts. Rosalie Pozo led all scorers on Bluefield State with 11 points. Pozo shot 50% from 3 connecting three times and was perfect from the stripe going 2-2. Tanasia Blake and Maggie Tien were tied for second on the team with 8 points each.
Defensively the Big Blues were able to keep things close, only allowing Bluefield College to shoot 31% from the field. Shekinah Huggins led the Rams offensively with 12 points. But with the Big Blues not being able to find the bottom of the basket, they could not overcome their deficit and Bluefield College handed the Big Blues their 4th loss of the season, 65-45.
The Ladies hit the road this weekend to play in a tournament hosted by Kentucky State University. BSC plays Friday at 5:30 pm against Central State and play the hosts Saturday at 3:00 pm.
