BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State Soccer team (4-10-0) fell in their last regular-season game to Shaw University Tuesday afternoon at East River Soccer Complex, 3-0.

"The theme of this semester has been to "compete" and today we did that," said Head coach
Scott Forster.
Regardless of the scoreboard, these young women have given their all. We've played some excellent possession soccer and I'm proud of the energy, direction, and growth shown," said coach Forster.
The Bears attacked early in the first half. Thalita Faria scored the first goal at the 2-minute mark unassisted. Not long after Faria scored her first goal, she scored yet again at the 14-minute mark unassisted.
The Big Blue had several opportunities to score but none of their shots got by and into the goal.
Once again, early in the second half Jasa Curry scored the third and final goal for the Bears at the 62-minute mark, assisted by Faria. The Big Blue fought to put a goal in but just couldn't put anything together.
Noemi Christ had 12 saves off of 16 shots on goal. The Big Blue were outshot by the Bears 23-10.
"Bluefield State Women's Soccer made history with the close of our Inaugural season and I'm honored to be supporting it," said coach Forster.

The Big Blue will head to Virginia Beach for the USCAA Championship as the fifth seed. Pool play is set to begin Thursday, November 11.
