BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State men's basketball team dropped their second home game in a mid-week match Wednesday evening to Alderson Broaddus in Ned E. Shott Gymnasium, 81-69.

The Big Blue lost the game in the first half. Alderson Broaddus outscored them 41-30 going into halftime. The first half was a back-and-forth battle between the Big Blue and Battlers.
The Big Blue saw the first four points of the game with two quick layups by Marquez Cooper. 

The Battlers tied it up quickly with a jumper by Kj Walker. Cooper quickly put the Big Blue back with another good layup. 

The lead would fluctuate between the Big Blue and the Battlers for the next six minutes. The Battlers then took the lead on a three-minute run. 

Jordan Hinds put the Big Blue back on top with a three-pointer, 26-24. The game was quickly tied back up with a jumper from John Grayson.  

Cooper again tied the game up at the 5-minute mark, 30-30. The Big Blue went scoreless for the remaining five minutes of the game. 

The second half was an uphill battle that the Big Blue didn't win. The Battlers held a ten-point lead over the Big Blue the entire second half.  

Marquez Cooper led the Big Blue with 25 points on 10-21 shooting. He added seven rebounds in 32 minutes. 

Hirotaka Ohashi followed with 10 points. Ohashi added six assists in 39 minutes.

Landry Palata and Antoine Nunnally added nine points each. Both also added eight rebounds each. 

Overall, the team shot 26-73 for 35.6%.

They were 4-20 for 20.0% from the three-point line.

And 13-22 for 59.1% from the free-throw line.

They were outrebounded by the Golden Bulls 45-35.
