LYNCHBURG, Virginia — The Bluefield State women's basketball dropped their second exhibition match of the season to Liberty University in Liberty Arena Tuesday evening, 76-30.
Alexus Tucker led the Big Blue with nine points. Tucker also added five rebounds in 31 minutes.
Darnisha Farris led with six rebounds in 24 minutes.
Katrina Davis added 5 rebounds and four points in 21 minutes.
Overall, the team shot 10-51 for 19.6%.
They were 4-22 for 18.2% from the three-point line.
And 6-8 for 75.0% from the free-throw line.
They were outrebounded by the Golden Bulls 48-29.
The first half belonged to the Flames, outscoring the Big Blue, 40-9.
The start of the third quarter brought hope for the Big Blue. Alexus Tucker hit a jumper at the 9-minute mark to put the Big Blue in double-digits.
The next three minutes would remain scoreless for the Big Blue. The next nine points would come from consecutive three-pointers.
Azariah Binford drained a three at the 6-minute mark assisted by Tucker.
Following Binford, Dani Janutolo popped one at the 5-minute mark assisted by Binford.
Tucker dropped one at the 3-minute mark giving the Big Blue their last three points of the quarter.
The Big Blue only scored ten points in the fourth but defensively worked hard to keep the Flames under 20 points.
