BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State wrestling team captured their first win of the season against Bluefield University (29-21) and Southwest Virginia Community College (30-6) Tuesday evening in Herb Sims Center.
Gabe Nesmith (133) and Gregory Dennard (197) led the Big Blue with a pinfall over Bluefield University's Jonathan Baier (133) and Micah Perdue (197).
Nesmith pinned Baier in a total of 3:00 and earned six points for the Big Blue. Dennard didn't take any time to pin Perdue and earned another six points for the Big Blue.
Justin Fritz (174) added five points for the Big Blue on a technical fall over Noah Perdue.
