Due West, SC – Bluefield State University Soccer took down Erskine College 2-1 on Tuesday at Huggins Field.
Erskine struck first, scoring in the 19
th minute to take the lead. Despite the Big Blue outshooting Erskine four to three in the first half, Erskine would go into the second with the 1-0 lead.
Out of the half, the Big Blue came together to complete the comeback win.
Martina Cardemil showed up big for the Big Blue completing the brace on the day. Her first goal came in the 81
st minute to even the score with Erskine. The Big Blue secured the comeback victory in the 84
th minute after Cardemil found the back of the net again, assisted by
Lou Periquet.
"Coming into today's game we knew it would be a physical battle. The team did all we could ask for, to compete" said Coach
Scott Forster. "The game is won in possession and there's no better feeling in soccer than a comeback road win."
