Big Blue Fall to AB

Philippi, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball drop a road game at Alderson Broaddus 80-75 on Monday.

Kaine McColley led all scorers with a season high of 24 points followed by Malik Tidwell with 18 and Jordan Hinds with 11. Hirotaka Ohashi and Hinds each came away with three steals with Samuel Desouza adding six rebounds.

The Battlers jumped out to an early lead scoring the first five points of the night. The Big Blue scored their first points after Hinds found McColley behind the arch to pull within two. The Battlers reached a ten-point lead over the Big Blue at the 13:31 mark, but the Big Blue answered with four to cut the lead to six. Facing a ten-point deficit going into the final four minutes of the first, the Big Blue scored six consecutive points to cut the Battlers lead to four going into the half.

 A trip to the line by Khamaury McMillan at 14:08 evened the score at 47. After trading back and forth buckets, the Battlers built a lead of seven over the Big Blue with 6:47 left in play. The Big Blue pulled within one at 1:35 after a three by McColley, but the Battlers would go on to outscore the Big Blue 8-4 to take the 80-75 victory.

The Big Blue will be back at home Saturday, January 28th against Salem University with tipoff slated for 4 p.m.
