Athens, WV – Bluefield State University baseball fell to Concord University 10-3 on Wednesday.
Tahir Meulens led off the first with a single up the middle and later stole second to get into scoring position. Cole Cote doubled to right center to bring in the first run of the game. Jordan Varela-Payne was hit by the pitch in the third. After moving to second after a single by Cote, Varela-Payne crossed the plate to extend the lead 2-0. The Mountain Lions evened the score in the fifth, 2-2, and later took the lead, 5-0, in the sixth. Varela-Payne added another for the Big Blue in the seventh after Ty Sizemore singled through the left side, but the Mountain Lions scored two in the seventh and three in the eighth to come away with the 10-3 victory over the Big Blue.
Curtis Ball, Cote and Meulens each came away with two hits on the day.

The Big Blue will compete against Wheeling University beginning with a double header on Friday, February 24th and single game on Saturday, February 25th at Shawnee Sports Complex.
