Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball took down Virginia University of Lynchburg 125-82 on Wednesday at Ned Shott Gymnasium.
Malik Tidwell led the Big Blue with 22 points with Chase Page following closely with 21 points and eight rebounds. Khamaury McMillan and Malik Lacewell came away with 16 apiece. Samuel Desouza added ten rebounds and six points in 14 minutes of play.
Tidwell scored the first four points of the night with a fastbreak jumper and two free throws. VUL evened the score at 7 at the 15:45 mark. A dunk from Jordan Hinds followed by back-to-back threes from Page and Jaaden Newell built a Big Blue lead of ten. A 14-point run for the Big Blue extended their lead 58-19. Lacewell scored the final points of the first half with a putback layup to go into the half with the 44-point advantage.
The Big Blue had their largest lead (47) of the night six minutes into the second half after Newell forced the turnover and McMillan completed the fastbreak layup. Midway through the half a midrange jumper from Jason Priah and a three from Nick Owens extended the Big Blue 107-61. A dunk from Page scored the final points of the night with the Big Blue coming away with the 125-82 victory over VUL.
