Wise, VA- Bluefield State University baseball dropped a midweek matchup to UVA Wise 11-4.
The Cavs scored six in the second to jump out to an early lead over the Big Blue. The Big Blue brought one across the plate after Curtis Ball sent a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Garett Hladilek in the fourth.
After the Cavs added another in the bottom of the inning, the Big Blue took advantage of errors in the top of the fifth to bring in three. Jordan Varela-Payne reach on a throwing error and later moved to second on a single up the middle by Cole Cote. Brantley Durham reached on a throwing error, Varela-Payne scored. Hladilek drew the walk to load the bases followed by a single through the left side by Sam Walker to bring in two for the Big Blue.
The Cavs would add one in the seventh and three on the third to take the 11-4 victory over the Big Blue.
The Big Blue collected ten hits with Tahir Cote, Hladilek, Walker and Tahir Meulens having two this apiece.
