Petersburg, VA- Bluefield State University soccer battled against Virginia State on Saturday, coming to a 3-3 draw at Roger's Stadium.
After the Trojans took the early lead one minute into the match, Big Blue Carmen Galante (assisted by Rachel Major) evened the score in the 13th minute. Another Galante goal gave the Big Blue the 2-1 lead in the 22nd minute, but the Trojans answered with a goal of their own to go into the half tied 2-2.
Coming out of the half, Sayen Santana found the back of the net to give the Big Blue the 3-2 advantage. The Trojans netted a late goal in the 80th minute to even the score at three.
The Big Blue outshot the Trojans by one, 21-20. Big Blue goalkeeper Kaycee Coty came away with six saves on the day.
