Bluefield, WV - Paul Davis, the Head Women's Basketball coach, has been chosen to lead the NCAA College Basketball Academy, which will be held from July 27th to July 30th in Rock Hill, S.C.

The NCAA College Basketball Academy offers summer developmental programs for both men and women. These programs combine high-level basketball competitions with essential life skills training, providing aspiring student-athletes with a glimpse into the college basketball realm.

Coach Davis recently concluded his third year guiding Bluefield State University's team and completed his inaugural season in the CIAA with a commendable 15-13 overall record, boasting a .536 win percentage. Under Davis's leadership, the team achieved one of the finest starts in the university's NCAA history, beginning with an impressive 8-1 record. Additionally, Davis guided the team to a significant milestone by securing its first victory over a nationally ranked opponent, #18 Virginia State University. Furthermore, Davis steered the team to its first-ever CIAA tournament victory and advanced to the CIAA Tournament Quarterfinals for the inaugural time in school history. Two of Davis's players were honored as Defensive Players of the Week three times each, totaling six weeks of recognition.

Being chosen to coach at the NCAA College Basketball Academy is a tremendous privilege. I'm thrilled and eagerly anticipate the chance to contribute to the growth of young athletes, collaborate with fellow coaches, and refine my skills. Moreover, it's an excellent opportunity to show my unwavering support for my cherished Bluefield State University.
