Bluefield, WV - Bluefield State Athletics announces the hiring of Scott Considine as head coach of the Big Blue baseball program.
"I want to sincerely thank Dr. Darrin Martin, Interim President, Derrick Price, Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Ryan Bailey, Associate Director of Athletics, and the entire hiring committee for entrusting me with the leadership of the Bluefield State University baseball program. This is both an incredible opportunity and responsibility, and I am excited to begin," said Considine. "I also want to express my gratitude to Dayton University head coach Scott Loiseau for his leadership, mentorship, and friendship, as well as for providing me with the opportunities to develop in my role and ultimately advance to a head coaching position. Considine most recently served as an Assistant Baseball Coach for Southern New Hampshire University, where he played a crucial role in the team's success, contributing to two NE10 Conference Championships, four NCAA Division II Regional Championships, and three NCAA Division II Super Regional Championships.
As the Head Baseball Coach for the 18U team at Next Level Baseball in Asheville, North Carolina and as the Head Baseball Coach and Founder of American Legion Baseball in Burnsville, North Carolina, he administered the program budgets, secured funding, and provided one-on-one coaching. His ability to foster community involvement and develop players' skills was evident in the program's success.
Considine, a United States Army Combat Veteran, has also served as the Assistant Baseball Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Kentucky Christian University, where he focused on skill-building practices, conditioning, and recruiting talented student-athletes.
