Clarion, PA – Bluefield State University women's basketball opened the season in commanding fashion, with a 100-53 victory over Mansfield in the CIAA/PSAC Challenge.

The Big Blue came out firing, jumping ahead using quick buckets and forcing Mansfield into early turnovers. The Big Blue exploded for 32 first-quarter points and carried that momentum into the second, taking a 58-24 lead into halftime.

In the third, the Big Blue continued to push their lead to 40+. The Big Blue closed the night with a 30-point fourth quarter to seal the 100-53 win.

Jhakia Gist led the way with a game-high 16 points, followed by Leniyah Fulsom with 14 points, and Shanon Hoover coming away with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Jasmine Jenkins added 12 points, while Jayla Sample rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points.
