Athens, WV – Bluefield State University women's basketball fell short at Concord 79-77. The Big Blue move to 1-2 on the year.
The Big Blue set the tone early with a 29-point first quarter, forcing 12 turnovers in the first quarter to take the 29-25 lead. The Big Blue outscored the Mountain Lions 19-12 to take the 48-37 lead into halftime. The Mountain Lions used a strong fourth quarter, outscoring the Big Blue 28-16, to secure the two-point win.
Jhakia Gist led the Big Blue with 20 points with Azahreya Drayton-Gill adding 17 points and eight rebounds. Jasmine Jenkins finished with 14 points and five steals, and Leniyah Fulsom totaled nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.
