Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University women's basketball cruised past Bluefield University for the 104-48 victory. The Big Blue improve to 3-3 on the season.
The Big Blue set the tone from the start, forcing 11 first-quarter turnovers to take a 24-15 lead. The Big Blue continued its pressure in the second, outscoring the Rams 31-13 to take the 55-28 advantage into the half.
The Big Blue used a 25-point third quarter to stretch the lead further. The Big Blue dominated the boards, finishing with 56 rebounds, to control the matchup to take the 104-48 victory.
Azahreya Drayton-Gill led the Big Blue with a career-high 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including four threes, while adding eight rebounds and five steals. Leniyah Fulsom added 15 points and three steals, and Jasmine Jenkins totaled 11 points, five rebounds and three steals. Jayla Sample led all players with 10 rebounds on the night.
