Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University women's basketball fell to nonconference opponent West Virginia State 76-55. The Big Blue move to 9-15 (2-10 CIAA) on the year with the Yellow Jackets moving to 11-11 (6-9 MEC).
The Yellow Jackets took control early, outscoring the Big Blue 26-9 in the first quarter. Despite a stronger second quarter, where the Big Blue matched Yellow Jackets with 25 points, the early deficit was too much to overcome.
Jasmine Jenkins led the Big Blue with 22 points and 16 rebounds to secure the double-double. Azahreya Drayton-Gill added 15 points and 10 rebounds followed by Tianna Rhodes with seven rebounds and three steals.
