Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball took down Bowie State 101-90 after losing to them earlier in the season. The Big Blue improve to 15-10 (8-6 CIAA) with the Bulldogs falling to 15-11 (7-7 CIAA).
The Big Blue started strong, taking a 52-42 lead into halftime and maintained their momentum in the second half to secure the victory. Bluefield State shot 50% from the field and used opportunities at the line, converting 32-of-43 attempts.
Jordan Hinds led the Big Blue with 24 points. Shainen Carter added 22 points and four blocks, while Terrell Williams posted a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds.
Throughout the game there were 11 lead changes, but Bluefield State controlled the pace with 38 fast-break points and a strong defensive presence, recording 11 steals and 11 blocks.
