Orangeburg, SC – Mikaylah Chimara has been named CIAA Rookie of the year and to the All-CIAA Rookie Team, announced on Wednesday by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

The freshman outfielder collected 31 hits and 16 walks while batting .267. Chimara drove in seven runs in her collegiate debut, scored 31 times and went 23-for-27 in stolen base attempts. Serving primarily as the left fielder for the Big Blue, Chimara has 75 putouts on the year and eight assists.
