Ettrick, VA – Bluefield State University women's soccer took down Virginia State University 2-1. The Big Blue improve to 2-5 on the year with the Trojans falling to 1-5.
The Big Blue got on the board first late in the half when Raquel Leonardo found the back of the net to take Bstate into the half with the 1-0 lead.
The Big Blue quickly extended their lead in the second half after Kali Booker found Jalynn Pace for the goal just four minutes into the half.
Virginia State scored one in the 79th minute, but the Big Blue defense, anchored by goalkeeper Kaycee Coty with two saves, kept the Trojans at bay.
