Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University men's basketball took down Virginia Union University 75-57 on Wednesday. This victory moves the Big Blue to 7-11 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
After the Panthers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, the Big Blue bounced back to take the 37-23 lead into the half. The Big Blue used efficient outside shooting to build their lead, connecting on seven three in just the first half. The Big Blue maintained their double-digit lead in the second half, outscoring the Panthers 38-34 to seal the 75-57 victory.
Myles Pierre, who was honored prior to the game for accomplishing 1000+ career points, led all scorers with 26 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. Ellija Preddy finished with 13 points and a game-high eight assists while Sila Tako provided a 12-point spark for the Big Blue.
