Bluefield, WV – Bluefield State University soccer fell to Virginia State on Sunday, 4-1. The Big Blue move to 3-4-2 on the season.
The Trojans set the tone early, opening the scoring in the 20th minute and extended their lead in the 24th and 29th minute to take the 3-0 advantage into the half.
The Big Blue got on the board in the second half after Lauren Mallinger found the back of the net in the 76th minute to bring the score to 3-1; however, the Trojans answered to restore the three goal lead and secure the 4-1 victory.
Goalkeeper Natasha Jaramillo finished with 16 saves for the Big Blue.
