Big Blue Track & Field Continues Record-Breaking Season in Charlotte

Charlotte, NC – Bluefield State University Track & Field competed at the JCSU invitational, where the men's 4x100 set the tone for the day with a season best time of 42.86 to open the meet.

Ja'Miyah Walker continues her dominate freshman campaign, breaking her own school record in the women's Discus with a toss of 42.97m. Walker also broke the record in Javelin with a throw of 35.22m. Freshman Jamon Simes takes down the men's 110m hurdles record with a performance of 15.46s, moving him to 10th in the CIAA. Continuing the record breaking for the freshman was Samaritan Page with a time of 49.48s in the men's 400m. In the women's 100m and 200m Kiana Casimir broke the school records with times of 12.60s and 26.30s respectively.

Other notable performances include Taleyah Palmer who ran a PR time of 59.86, moving her into #2 all-time at Bluefield State in the 400m. Luke Roberts and Joey Isaacs took 1st and 2nd in the men's Javelin with throws of 47.34m and 45.42m. Robert Scott III moved to 4th in the CIAA with a time of 21.46s in the men's 200m dash.

"The sun has been out the last few weeks in the mountains of WV and training has improved," said head coach Wesley Arthur. "so right now were in a great place."
