Riley Bost joins the Bluefield State University coaching staff as the pitching coach for the 2024-25 season. A former college and current professional pitcher, he brings a wealth of experience both on the mound and in player development.
A graduate of Bluefield State University, Bost played for several collegiate programs, including the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Northern Colorado, before finishing his collegiate career at Bluefield State. During his time as a college athlete, he was a versatile pitcher, excelling both as a starter and a reliever. For Bluefield State, he started 10 games, including one complete game. After college, Bost played professional baseball with the Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League and with the Alpine Cowboys and Roswell Invaders in the Pecos League.
This is Bost’s first year coaching at the college level and is doing so at his alma mater. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in the RBA program with a concentration in History and a Business Certificate from Bluefield State University.
A native of Caddo Mills, TX, Bost has dedicated his life to serving others, both on and off the baseball field. He has a deep passion for helping young athletes reach their potential, and he brings that commitment to the Big Blue. Whether through coaching or his work in church ministry, Bost believes in fostering discipline, character, and teamwork in every player he works with.
