Sam Berry joined Bluefield State Athletics in February 2023 as the men’s head golf coach.
Prior to Bluefield State, Berry played professional golf for six years, competing in various mini tours around the country. Before playing full-time professionally, Berry served as the assistant golf professional and playing professional at Pikewood National in Morgantown, WV. During his time at Pikewood National, Berry won the Tri-State PGA section assistant championship and qualified for the PGA Club Professional Championship. Berry brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the Big Blue.
During his collegiate years, Berry spent his freshman year at Concord University, where he was named MEC Freshman of the Year, Player of the Year, and first-team all-conference in 2014. After his freshman year, Berry transferred to Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he won multiple individual tournaments and competed in two NCAA Division II National Championships.
Berry is originally from Bolton, England, and lives in Bluefield, WV, with his wife, Dr. Alexandrea Berry, and son Hudson.
