Gracie Reed

Grace Reed is entering her first season as Head Coach for the Men’s and Women’s Tennis teams at Bluefield State. Reed played her freshman year of collegiate tennis at NAIA powerhouse, Milligan College where she competed in the number one singles and doubles spots on a team ranked #19 in the nation. While at Milligan, she earned a top 25 national singles ranking as well as Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year. After her freshman year, she transferred to Radford University where she played her next 3 years. While at RU, she competed primarily in the number 4 singles spot and as high as number 1 doubles in a very competitive Big South Conference where she earned winning records in 2 seasons.
 
Reed is from Bland, VA and attended Bland High School, playing tennis and volleyball. Reed competed in only 3 seasons (2009, 2010 & 2012) and earned an undefeated singles record and never dropped a set throughout her high school career. She was a six-time State Champion, winning 3 singles and 3 doubles titles and two-time girl’s tennis Timesland Player of the Year (2010 & 2012). After her final season at RU, Reed took over for her father and coached the Radford High School girl’s tennis team to a 2016 state title. Reed then graduated magna cum laude from Radford University in December 2016 with a double major in Accounting and Finance. Upon graduation, she starting working in public accounting for top 100 accounting firm, Brown Edwards, where she has been ever since. She has also taught several camps and clinics over the years as part of her parents’ (Mark and Bridget Sarver) business, Tennis on Main, one of the region’s largest providers of tennis instruction and training.
 
Reed has four daughters (Adeline, Ella, Eden, Scarlett) and one son (Christopher) with her husband Travis.
