The Big Blues played a good game, but lost it in the final minute of the second half. The Big Blues were only down 5 points, 38-43, at the half. Late in the second half, the Big Blues took the lead and held it until the Panthers went on a 7-2 run with less than a minute on the clock to take the game and take the 1-point victory.
For the game, the Big Blues shot 51.6% from the field, 48% from the 3-point line, and 56.3% from the free-throw line. The Panthers shot 49% from the field 36% from the 3-point line, and 73% from the free-throw line.
The Panthers out-rebounded the Big Blues 41-31 and forced the Big Blues to have 16 turnovers compared to 14 of their own.
Freshman guard Chas Harvey (pictured) had a spectacular game scoring 32 points on 10-for-13 from the field, 6-for-6 from the 3-point line, and 6-for-9 from the free-throw line. He also had 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.
Junior guard Julian Hernandez had 20 points on 7-for-14 from the field, 3-for-7 from the 3-point line, and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line. He also had 4 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Senior guard Avery Holliday had 14 points on 6-for-11 from the field and 2-for-5 from the 3-point line. He led the team in rebounding with seven, and had 4 steals, and 3 assists.
Junior guard Joshua Windham had 11 points on 5-for-12 from the field, he also grabbed 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal.
The Big Blues will host Tusculum College on Thursday, Nov. 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the Ned E. Shott Gynasium in Bluefield, W.Va
