Box Score Athens, W.Va.— The Bluefield State Men's Basketball team defeated Concord University 92-88 tonight in the Carter Center in Athens, W.Va. With the victory, the Big Blues have won their third game in a row to push their record to 4-10 on the season.

For the game, the Big Blues shot 38% from the field, 29% from three, and 75% from the free-throw line. The Big Blues made 10 more free-throws (30-for-40) than the Mountain Lions (20-for-29).
In the first half, the Big Blues took an early lead, but the Mountain Lions erased it and didn't look back. They controlled the ball and had a 10 point lead, but the Big Blues cut into that deficit and were down by 2 points at the break, 39-41.
The Big Blues took the lead in the first 4 minutes of the second half and held it until the Mountain Lions tied the game with 6:37 on the clock.
The Big Blues were up 10 points late in the second half, but the Mountain Lions didn't give it and made a run for a comeback. They continued to play tough defense and made shots while the Big Blues struggled and missed some free-throws. The Mountain Lions were within 2 points with 3 seconds remaining in the game, but the Big Blues stretched it back to 4 points after two made free-throws by Mark Durgan. The Big Blues sealed the victory by making the majority of their free-throws down the stretch.
Senior Mark Durgan (pictured) had 39 points (9-for-26 FGs and 15-for-20 from FTs), 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Freshman Chas Harvey had 23 points (7-for-15 FGs and 9-for-10 FTs), 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Junior Joshua Windham had 14 points and 6 rebounds. Senior Avery Holliday grabbed 7 rebounds (team high) and 6 points. Junior James Day secured 6 rebounds and 2 points.
The Big Blues put their 3-game winning streak on the line on Saturday, Dec. 19th at 2:00 p.m. when they travel to the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan in Buckhannon, W.Va.
