Box Score Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues started Rivalry Week off with a match up against Concord University. Unfortunately the Ladies were not able to hold off the Mountain Lions and fell at home 84-56. With this win, Concord University picked up its first win of the season and Bluefield State fell to 0-3.
The story of the night was on the glass where Concord was very successful. The Mountain Lions ended with 22 offensive boards, which lead to 21-second chance points. Bluefield State was only able to grab 37 total rebounds for the game. That being said, Hannah O'Quinn was a force on the defensive side of the ball and totaled 12 rebounds and 4 blocks, her third double-digit rebounding game of the season.
On the offensive side, things were starting to click for the Ladies. The team's turnovers were significantly down at 19. They also started connected on 9 threes for the game, most this season. However, the Big Blues did leave a lot at the charity strip, going 9 for 25. Overall the Big Blues shot 33% and once again Tanasia Blake lead all Bluefield State scorers with 18. Blake also had 11 rebounds, giving her, her first double-double of the season.
The ladies turn right back around and go on the road for another rivalry game against the Rams of Bluefield College. The game starts at 5:30 in the Dome at Bluefield College.
