Box Score Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues played their final game before Thanksgiving Break against Davis & Elkins. The Senators came to play and after taking the lead mid-way through the 1st quarter, they never looked back winning 110-55.
Bluefield State came out early with the press and made a couple shots to take an early lead. But midway through the quarter D&E started shooting the ball better in route to a 58% shooting night. The Senators were led by Sydney Turner who hit 10 threes' in the game, setting a Davis & Elkins record for most three's in a game. Turner ended the game with 33 points, leading all scorers. Stephanie Wooten added 20 points and 13 assists in a double-double performance to help seal D&E's victory.
Bluefield State shot 36% from the floor, 24% from behind the arc. The Ladies were led by Lyndsay Hatfield who had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Tanasia Blake and Rosalie Pozo had 11 points apiece. BSC did get some life off the bench tonight with Lakin Keene scoring 8 points, 6 of those coming from downtown. Hannah O'Quinn was once again a force on the boards securing 4 offensive and 8 defensive rebounds.
The Big Blues get some much needed rest as they have 12 days before their next game. The ladies will get 5 days off completely before returning back to practice to get ready for Malone on December 3rd. The women play at 6:00 pm that night and will follow the men's game at 4:00 pm. The men are also playing Malone that Saturday. Tickets will be $5.00 and will give you admission into both games.
