Bluefield, WV- The Big Blues bounce back after being down early to Tusculum to take the victory 6-3. This was a very tough match up for the Big Blues as Tusculum beat West Liberty, who the Big Blues lost to before Spring Break.
The men were down heading into the singles competition 2-1. The only doubles win for the Big Blues was with Platon Gud and Alex Rudenco as they were able to get by their Tusculum opponents 8-4.
But once the Big Blues began to fight back and won 3 matches in the 3rd set. Anthony Braem's match was very close and intense. Braem took the 1st set 6-3 but lost the 2nd 6-2. In the 3rd Braem showed some grit digging deep to win a tie breaking game 7-5.
Ignacio Pulido also was in a heated battle. Pulido lost his 1st set 7-5 but won the 2nd 7-5. Pulido and his opponent David Siegle were very evenly matched, including the 3rd set. Pulido had to go deep into his tank to pull out a win. The 3rd set was played as a tie break set and went into extra games. Pulido pulled out the victory 12-10 and helped seal the 6-3 victory over the Pioneers.
