The Big Blue Let Go of Second Road Game

BELMONT-The Bluefield State women's basketball team fell to Belmont Abbey in their second road game at Wheeler Center Saturday evening, 80-44. The Big Blue drop to 0-4, while the Crusader's improve to 4-1.

Saturday evening, Bluefield State struggled to get something going as the Crusaders had the lead the entire game. The Big Blue managed to create 8 turner overs by dominating on the defensive end.

Bluefield State's leading scorer's this evening were Freshman, London Coleman with 10 points. Followed by Junior, Eden Billups-Campell with 10 as well.

 

Even though the big blue weren't able to find their way offensively, defensively, they were able to make it happen. The Big Blue held Belmont Abbey's leading scorer, Brittany Autry to 9 points on Saturday evening compared to her 19 on Thursday evening.

 

Up Next...

The season will continue Saturday, January 16 on the road to face King University. The Big Blue will face the Tornado's at Wheeler Kline Gym at 2 p.m.

"Coming off of about a month break and only having only three practices really showed in tonight's game. Having tomorrow off and then having a full week of practice before our next game will be good for us."
