Soccer Drops To Emory and Henry, 2-0

BLUEFIELD  - The Bluefield State Soccer team (3-6-0) Fell Tuesday afternoon against Emory and Henry at East River Soccer Complex, 0-2.

"The team worked hard today but two small lapses in concentration cost us heavily," said Head coach Scott Forster.

The Wasps attacked early when Camilla Dobraniecki grabbed the first goal at the 6-minute mark unassisted. The Big Blue played strong defense holding the Crusaders to one goal in the first half. 

With about 3 minutes left in the game, The Wasps struck once again. Lucy Dunlop scored at the 87-minute mark unassisted. 

"We're struggling with an injury crisis right now but the 11 who finished the game gave it their all," said head coach Forster. 

Goalkeeper Noemi Christ had double-digit saves, with 10 Tuesday afternoon. The Big Blue were outshot, 20-16, and shots on goal 12-9.

The Big Blue will travel to Virginia Beach to face the Royals of Regent University Friday, October 15. The first touch is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
