"I thought we did a really good job offensively tonight as far as swinging aggressively and trying to find some open spots in their defense. However, we didn't lock in defensively against WSSU like we needed to, said Head Coach
Savanna Hammond.
We weren't able to keep them out of system as much as we had hoped to. Also, we weren't able to minimize the amount of hard-driven swings we were taking from the outsides," said coach Hammond.
The Rams Struck first and took set one, 25-23. The Big Blue answered with set two, 27-25. The Rams came back to win sets three and four, 28-26, 25-18.
Kate Dashevska still led the Big Blue with 18 kills and 11 digs, giving another double-double for this season.
Dajah Farmer missed a double-double by one less kill. Farmer ended the night with 9 kills and 13 digs.
Veronica Butler also collected 12 digs in tonight's match.
Anna Esquivel dominated in digs tonight with 18.
The Big Blue held Raven Gray off a double-double, however, Gray still managed to get 15 kills. Not too far from Gray was teammate Sanaa Lanier, with 13 kills. Myra Wallace led the Rams in digs collecting 16.
"We are still a young team and are working hard right now at learning how to maintain consistency on our side of the net," said coach Hammond.
