The Royals attacked early when Kaitlyn Cassity grabbed the first goal at the 3-minute mark assisted by Morgan Mannix. The Big Blue answered with their first goal
Marlena Meyer at the 20-minute mark assisted by
Ava Jakich-Kunze.
Kennedy Munoz got a piece of the action scoring the second goal for the Big Blue at the 24-minute mark assisted by
Marlena Meyer. The Big Blue couldn't get enough of the scoring energy.
Bianka Zeitvogel scored the third goal at the 34-minute mark, assisted by
Rachel Major.
Ava Jakich-Kunze scored the fourth goal in a row for the Big Blue at the 37-minute mark assisted by
Taylor Papa. Savannah Baer didn't let the Royals go into halftime without putting them in close fighting range. Baer scored the second goal for the Royals at the 37-minute mark assisted by Kaitlyn Cassity.
About ten minutes into the second half Zeitvogel grabbed her second goal of the evening. Giving the Big Blue their fifth goal at the 55-minute mark assisted by Papa.
Meyer snagged her first collegiate "hat-trick" by scoring the last two goals of the game. The first was at the 73-minute mark assisted by Papa. The final goal of the game was scored at the 81-minute mark assisted by Martinez.
Papa also earned a "hat-trick" in assisted with three in tonight's game.
"It was great to step up and give their all today. We were low on players but not on passion.," said head coach Forster.
