BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State Soccer team (4-11-0) fell in their first post-season game to the University of Maine at Fort Kent late Thursday morning at Princess Anne Athletic Complex, 3-0.

"Today we played the returning USCAA small college national champions and we competed. At this level, you cannot switch off and on the occasions, we did it cost us, dear. You need to value the ball in the final third and take your chances but today we lacked that edge," said Head coach

The Bengal Tigers attacked early in the first half. Sophie Noe scored the first goal at the 3-minute mark, short from the left side into the box.
Brittney Thompson started it off for the Bengal Tigers in the second half. Thompson scored the second goal at the 68-minute mark assisted by Gizela Carranza.
Late in the half Jordan Maxwell scored the third and final goal for the Bengal Tigers at the 87-minute mark assisted by Nayela Beltran-Mendoza.
Noemi Christ had 11 saves off of 14 shots on goal. The Big Blue were outshot by the Bears 20-5.
"No result on the scoreboard ever takes away from the program's successes in our inaugural year. I'm proud of the effort shown. We certainly left it all out there," said coach Forster.

The Big Blue will face the Saint Bernard's of D'Youville College, Saturday, November 13 at 10:00 am. The Big Blue is still in the running for the championship game Sunday but will need to score more than three goals.
