ERIE, Pennsylvania — The Bluefield State women's basketball team fell to the number ninth team in the country, Gannon University Saturday evening in the Hammermill Center, 60-72.
"Gannon was probably one the best well-coached teams that we'll see all year," said head coach
Paul Davis.
Junior Guard
Alexus Tucker led the Big Blue with 15 points.
Londen Coleman added 13 points along with five rebounds.
Samantha Pirosko led the Knights with 28 points and ten rebounds.
Bluefield State shot 32.0 percent from the field (16 of 50), while Gannon University shot 47.4 percent (27 of 57).
"It was a great test for but we have to find ways to compete just a little harder in the second half."
The women will travel up the West Virginia road for a Tuesday night game against Concord Unversity. The Big Blue and The Mountain Lions are scheduled for the first tip at 5:30 p.m. in the Carter Center.
