BLUEFIELD, Virginia — The Bluefield State women's basketball team continued the winning streak in the "Battle of the Bluefields" with a 69-63 win over Bluefield University Thursday evening.
Junior guard
Dani Janutolo led the Big Blue with 18 points, while guard
Katrina Davis added 16 with seven rebounds, and
Alexus Tucker had nine points with nine rebounds. Bluefield State shot 37.5 percent from the field (24 of 64), while Bluefield University shot 40.0 percent (22 of 55).

The Big Blue led the first two quarters in scoring, first quarter 18-16 and second quarter 17-14. At the end of the third quarter, the Big Blue were down 49-46.
With four minutes remaining, the Big Blue and the Rams were all tied up at 57.
Jade Goodloe hit a jumper with an assist from
Azariah Binford, giving Bluefield State the lead 59-57. The Big Blue held the lead for the remainder of the game.
Ashlie Louden put two free throws in with 22 seconds left to clinch the victory.

The women will travel to Marshall University for a Tuesday evening match-up. The Big Blue and the Bison are scheduled for the first tip at 6 p.m. in Cam Henderson Center.
