BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State men's basketball team captured their third win of the season in overtime against Salem University in Ned E. Shott Gym Saturday evening, 95-82. The Big Blue improves to 3-4, while the Tigers drop to 4-5.

Saturday evening, The Big Blue battled the entire first half with the Tigers. The Big Blue went up against the Tigers half, 44-37. Senior, Brandon Anyanwu dropped 16 points in the first half. 

The second half was another battle between the schools. The Tigers took the lead 73-71, with three minutes left. The Big Blue came back to tie up the game with 18 seconds left. The Tigers couldn't find enough drive to close out the game. 

The game went into overtime tied up, 79-79. Salem won the tip-off but couldn't complete the possession. The Big Blue then went up 89-79 with two minutes left to go in overtime. Bluefield State closed out the win in overtime against the Tigers, 95-82. 

The Bluefield State offense worked seamlessly as numerous players scored in double digits. They were led by Junior Marquez Cooper with 27 points. Senior Brandon Anyanwu scored a season-high of 25, followed by teammates Taj-Maal Toney and Ahmad Jeffries with 12 points each, Bluefield State added 11 points off the bench this evening. 

The Tiger's leading scorer, Jordan Forbes led his team this evening with 30 points. Followed by his teammates Aleksa Dobrijevic and Fonz Hale with 16 points. The Big Blue outrebounded the Tigers, 45-31.

The season will end tomorrow at 2 p.m. against Salem University. The Big Blue will face the Tigers at Ned E. Shott Gymnasium.
