COLUMBIA, South Carolina - The Bluefield State men's basketball team collected their second win of the season against Allen University in Adams Gym Friday evening, 79-74. The Big Blue improves to 2-4, while the Yellow Jackets drop to 3-1.

Friday evening, The Big Blue got off to a slow start in the first half against the Yellow Jackets. The Big Blue trailed the Yellow Jackets at the half, 29-34. This season's leading scorer Marquez Cooper only scored two points in the first half, while Brandon Anyanwu racked up ten points in the first half of the game. 

The Big Blue found a second wind in the second half. Recording 50 points in the second half versus the 29 in the first half. Also, collecting 26 rebounds in the second half versus the 12 in the first half. This allowed the Big Blue to find themselves on top. 

The Bluefield State offense worked seamlessly as numerous players scored in double digits, led by Junior Marquez Cooper whose 19 points were the most for The Big Blue Friday night. Followed by Ahmad Jeffries with a season-high of 14 points. Not too far behind Jeffries was, Brandon Anyanwu with 12 points. One behind Anyanwu was Taj-Maal Toney with 11 points. 

Maleek Taylor led the Yellow Jackets tonight with 24 points. Followed by teammate Cameron Sembly with 17 points. The Big Blue outrebounded the Yellow Jackets tonight 38-37. 

The season will continue on Wednesday, February 10 with a postponed rescheduled game against Salem. The Big Blue with face the Tigers once again at T. Edward Davis Gymnasium.
