Box Score RICHMOND, VA - The Bluefield State Volleyball team (1-3) won its first set against Virginia Union but dropped their next three in Barco-Stevens Hall Friday evening.
The Big Blue came out strong and won the first set, 25-22. The Panthers would win the next three sets though to close the match, 25-23, 25-18, and 25-17.
"Tonight was a tough loss. The girls have trained hard this week and just couldn't put it all together. Our middles did a great job of working hard to be up in transition, but defensively we just got outworked," said Head Coach Savanna Hammond.
Kate Dashevska dominated for BSC collecting another double-double, tallying 15 kills and 23 digs. Jordan Duncan was productive for the Big Blue with 10 kills and just missed a double-double with nine digs.
Veronica Butler tallied 22 assists. Anna Esquivel added 17 digs along with Dajah Farmer with 15 digs.
