BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield State men's tennis team rolled through the University of Pikeville in their home opener Friday afternoon at Lotito City Park, 6-1.
Frederik Bau-Madsen and Juan De Freitas got the first win in the doubles match on court one, 6-2.
Teddy Razafindratsima and
Tom Schmieta dropped in a hard-fought doubles match against Martin Lorenzo and Valentin Ortiz, (7-6) to tie it up, 1-1.
Luke Busse and
Fabian Avail-Torres clinched the doubles win for the Big Blue on court three, 6-1.
Frederik Bau-Madsen defeated Valentin Ortiz in the number one spot, (6-3, 7-5).
Teddy Razafindratsima battled in the number two spot and came up with the win over Juan Atzate, (5-7, 6-4, 10-7).
Fernando Arguello fell in the number six spot for the Big Blue, (3-6, 0-6).
Tom Schmieta breezed past Mirko Dediclu in the number three spot, (6-3, 6-4). The Big Blue secured their win over UPike with
Luke Busse winning in the number four spot, (6-0, 6-0).
