MEADOWVIEW, Virginia -- The Bluefield State softball team fell in a doubleheader to Emory and Henry College Saturday afternoon.

Game 1:

The Wasps started things off in the first when Lydia Taylor homered to center field for a three-RBI. Mackenzie Williams hit a sac. fly to rightfield for an RBI, bringing in Nicole Cox. Hailey Mince added to the final run in the second with a double to left-center for an RBI.

The Wasps added two more in the third inning. Desi Norris grounded out to shortstop for the final RBI of the first game. 

Kennedy James (0-5) took the loss for Bluefield State. She gave up seven runs -- off of seven hits in 2.1 innings of work. 

Game 2: 

The Big Blue closed out Saturday with a 16-0 loss in game 2 of the doubleheader.

The Big Blue defense managed to keep the Wasps scoreless in the first inning. Dacey Jenkins singled through leftfield for an RBI in the second. 

The Big Blue defense struggled in the third inning. The Wasps scored 12 runs in the third inning.

The Big Blie defense saw two pitching changes within the third. Including Kylie Salazar and Kennedy James. 

Madison Thompson (1-8) took the loss for Bluefield State. She gave up six runs -- off of seven hits in 2.0 innings of work. 

Bluefield State dropped to 2-19, with the losses. The Wasps improved to 24-11.
