BLUEFILED -- Bluefield State Baseball fell to North Greenville Wednesday afternoon in a mid-week match-up, 20-5.
The Crusaders got on the board first after a two-RBI single by Josh Sentar. The Crusaders added another run in the third on a solo home run to add to their, 3-0.Â
The Big Blue answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the inning after an RBI double by
Jordan Varela-Payne, bringing in
Roman Moore. The Crusaders added eight runs between the fourth and fifth inning to take an 11-1 lead over the Big Blue.Â
In the top of the seventh, the Crusaders added another run on an RBI double. In the bottom half of the inning, the Big Blue scored three runs after an RBI double by
Brantley Durham, an RBI groundout, and a throwing error by the Crusader's defense, 12-4. Â
In the eighth, the Crusaders added three more runs to their lead. The Big Blue added their final run of the game in the bottom of the ninth after an RBI single by Durham, driving in
Trae Fowler. The Crusaders added four more runs in the ninth to make it a 20-5 game. Â
The Big Blue fallto 13-21 with the loss, The number 12 Crusaders improve to 30-6.
