Bluefield, WV - After confirming the number two spot in the final coach's poll of the season, Big Blue Women's soccer set to compete in the NCAA DII independent's national championship in Raleigh, NC on November 11th and 12th.
This competition is made up of teams from across the USA and Puerto Rico who compete as independents. The top four ranked teams will play in the Semi-finals on Saturday followed by the finals on Sunday. Big Blue will face off against Edward Waters in the first semi-final of the day at 11:30 a.m. at Durham County Stadium.
In its inaugural season Big Blue Soccer appeared in the USCAA national tournament, but this is the first time competing at the NCAA DII independent's national championships.
"We've played a challenging schedule this year and faced more than our fair share of adversity." Said head coach Scott Forster. "It's a credit to our players, administration and my coaching staff who've pulled together to give us a shot in the post-season. We are excited to be playing in November."
