Bluefield, WV- Bluefield State University Football fell to Virginia Union 57-12 on Saturday.
The Panthers got on the board on their first drive of the afternoon, to take the early 7-0 lead. The Panthers extended their lead 20-6, but
Isiah Teal found
Darius Thompson for the 3-yard touchdown to get the Big Blue on the board, 20-6. The Panthers would find the end zone once more before going into the half with the 27-6 lead over the Big Blue.
The Panthers would open the second half with a touchdown and extended their lead 48-6 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. The Big Blue would score at the 10:57 mark after a completed 31-yard pass by Teal to
Lucas Moore to make the score 48-12. The Panthers would score the final touchdown of the evening to take the 57-12 victory over the Big Blue.
Isiah Teal completed 15 out of 30 attempts for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Khyon Smith led the Big Blue in receiving with 49 yards.
On the defensive side,
Justin Campbell and
TJ Gunter came away with 6 tackles each.
