Banner Elk, NC – Bluefield State University men's basketball fell short against Lees-McRae in a non-conference matchup, 91-72. The Big Blue move to 1-6 and Lees-McRae moves to 5-1 on the year.
A three from Jordan Hinds got the scoring started, but the Bobcats quickly built up a eight point lead. Three consecutive buckets from Jaylen Bernard, J. Caleb Slawinski and Hinds pulled the Big Blue within two. A three from Bernard cut the Bobcat lead to three with 44 seconds to go, but the Bobcats closed out the half with the last four points to go into the half with the 47-40 lead.
The Bobcats extended their lead to as large at 24 in the second half in route to a 91-72 victory over the Big Blue.
Jordan Hinds and J. Caleb Slawinski led all scorers with 18 points and eight rebounds apiece. Chase Page would add 13 points with Nduka Ogwu would lead all players with ten rebounds.
